Built upon a plateau 100 feet above Phoenix, it is no wonder Mormon settlers named their city Mesa. This suburb of Phoenix is one of the fastest growing cities in North America but maintains its bedroom community status despite its growth.

In fact, visitors are encouraged to stroll through the well manicured gardens and absorb the grandiose architecture. The visitor's center, located just north of the temple, offers free tours and exhibitions.

Other attractions include the Arizona Museum of Natural History and the Mesa Amphitheatre.
