This Phoenix museum has one of the largest collections of North American rock art in the world. The world famous collection includes antique rock drawings from simple designs such as spirals to more elaborate drawings such as herds of deer on gigantic stones on a quarter-mile trail.
If you are dying of curiosity to learn more about what you see, feel free to get assistance from the interpretive center. You may also take guided tours October through April, on Saturdays at 10 a.m. Those who are there between May and September will have to get up earlier to catch the free tour on Saturdays at 7:30 a.m.
When the quarter mile walk makes you hungry, consider eating at the nearest restaurant, Different Pointe of View (602-866-6350). Dine al fresco and enjoy the colorful Arizona sunset from the patio along with your food. An average meal at this swanky place costs $38.
