This official Phoenix Point of Pride stands at a height of 795 meters and dominates the Phoenix skyline. Piestewa Peak is the second highest point in the Phoenix Mountains. This part of the Phoenix Mountains Preserve can be found at the end of Squaw Peak Drive.

A favorite with hikers, this must-see Phoenix attraction gets thousands of climbers per week. The Summit Trail is a favorite with hikers so mucho so sometimes you may come across a human traffic jam.

Hikers climb a more than billion year old gray metamorphic rock, red granite and elements of nearby Camelback Mountain that make up Piestewa Peak. There are many trails to choose from and before you embark on your trip make sure you have good hiking shoes, sunglasses, a hat and plenty of water. On average, you might burn 1,000 calories on the hike, and make sure to give your body a break and enjoy the breathtaking views.

Panoramic views on a clear day stretch as far as Pinnacle Peak, the McDowell Mountains, Four Peaks, the Superstition Mountains, Mount Lemmon, Tabletop Mountain, the Estrella Mountains, Woolsey Peak, the White Tanks Mountains, the Harquahala Mountains and the Bradshaw Mountains. There is plenty of wildlife to watch out for as well, such as road runners, chipmunks and butterflies.
