Herberger Theater Center - Phoenix, AZ
The government of Phoenix tries to promote the performing arts to encourage economic activity. Three major performing arts venues are owned operated and managed by the Phoenix Convention Center. These include Symphony Hall, Orpheum Theatre and the Herberger Theater Center.

The spacious Symphony Hall is home to the Phoenix Symphony, Arizona Opera and Ballet Arizona. The Broadway touring companies also perform at this venue. The hall has its own collection of art on display that includes sculpture and tapestry.

Orpheum Theater is a historic venue that has undergone a recent facelift. The interiors are grand and attractive. Patrons can enjoy a Broadway play here as well as other kinds of performances. Compared to Orpheum, Herberger Theater Center is a lot smaller. It has two stages one seating 815 and the other 350. Arizona Theatre Company, Actors Theatre of Phoenix, Center Dance Ensemble and other local arts organizations perform at this venue.

Located on 400 W Washington St., Dodge Theater is a mid-sized concert hall and arena that seats 5,500 people. It hosts various musical artists and shows apart from boxing matches.

Another popular theater, Gammage Auditorium is located on the campus of Arizona State University (ASU) in Tempe. Designed by famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright, this building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
