Herberger Theater Center

Herberger Theater Center serves as home to Arizona Theatre Company, Actors Theatre of Phoenix, Center Dance Ensemble and several other art establishments. The $19 million theater features diverse performances such as dance, orchestra music and plays.

The center has two stages. The Center Stage is equipped with a hydraulic orchestra pit and is optimized for drama and musical presentations. Here 815 patrons can watch a performance while the smaller theater Stage West has a seating capacity of 325.

Herberger Theater Center is dedicated towards promotion of art and culture in Phoenix. At their Lunch Time Theater, you can see performances by budding artists and emerging theater companies. The on-site Art Gallery showcases works of local artists. If you get there early for a show, browse the gallery to see if you would like to make a purchase.

If you want to spend a day in the neighborhood, you can explore other Phoenix attractions without getting bored. Heard Museum, Arizona Science Center, Chase Field, Arizona State Fair and Phoenix Greyhound Park are all located near by.

Near Herberger, you can find great dining options. For Italian fare, go over to Oregano's Pizza Bistro (602-253-9577), where you can also enjoy imported Moretti beer on the open-air patio.

From Herberger you can walk down to Hyatt Regency Phoenix or stay at the Springhill Suites By Marriott Phoenix Downtown which is less than a half mile and offers a free airport shuttle service.
