Heard Museum Guild Indian Fair & Market - Phoenix, AZ

If you haven't figured it out by now, Phoenix and its surrounding areas are very diverse - and that diversity extends to the variety of things that happen year round in the Valley of the Sun. Phoenix's high season is during the fall and winter, while most tourist stay away from the area during the summer, when the temperature can easily reach the triple digits.

During the fall, Fiesta Glendale celebrates Hispanic heritage in the area. Thousands gather in Murphy Park to hear the tantalizing Latin beats from performers all over Latin America. In October, the Arizona State Fair brings with it hundreds of carnival rides and great food.

Popular events like the Amp'd Mobil Supercross and West of Western Culinary Festival arrive with winter. But the most anticipated event is the Fiesta Bowl, which is held at the newly constructed University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale. Every January, two college football teams compete to earn the title of Bowl Champions.

Despite the heat, the events don't slow down. Summer Spectacular ArtWalk in Scottsdale attracts locals to go gallery hopping throughout the weekend. However, what locals and tourist looking for a bargain look forward to is Golf Galore, the time a year local golf courses dramatically drop their rates due to soaring temperatures.
