Arizona State Fair - Phoenix Hotels .com

Starting October 12 until early November, the Arizona State Grounds are a favorite fun destination, where visitors can find all sorts of entertainment, fun activity and a lively crowd. An all-American theme rules the event with all sorts of foods, rides, music, contests and free prizes. Many attractions are free and it's a good idea to go for these.

Mexican food lovers can enter the Major League Taquito Eating Championship to set up a new record, while pie lovers can down as many pies they want at Marie Callender's Pie Eating Contest.  Muscular kind can be seen competing at the United States Arm Wrestling Championships where they can enter the contest for free, while youngsters crowd the Budweiser Entertainment Pavilion where hit bands sing their popular songs.

Kids like Lucky Daredevil Thrill show where they can watch fire-eating, sword-swallowing, snake-charming, bed of nails and chainsaw picnic.  At the free Macy's Petting Zoo they can pet and feed the animals.

Go on a day when admission is free, and you can park for free at 1700 W. Washington St. From there take the free shuttle to the fairground which runs after 6 p.m. on weekdays and after 10 a.m. on weekends.
